Dermatoscope Information


We can only guarantee the performance and reliability of this
instrument if it is used in accordance with these instructions.

Instructions:
- Moisten the affected skin with immersion oil, for instance with a
cotton wool swab.
- Switch on the dermatoscope and place it gently over the lesion
so that it is in the centre of the contact disc (f).
- The examiner's eyes should be as close as possible to the
eyepieces (2). With the free hand adjust the focussing ring (3)
until a clearly-focussed image is obtained, (in most cases it is
only necessary to set up the focus once).
- For general dermatological examinations, use the dermatoscope
as an illuminated loupe by removing the contact disc.

Removing the contact disc:
The disc is attached by a bayonet fitting. To remove, simply rotate
the knurled ring counter-clockwise and detach from the dermatoscope.

Changing the bulb:
- Detach the dermatoscope from the handle and remove the old
bulb (4) by pulling.
- Clean the glass of the new bulb with a soft cloth.
- Push in the new bulb as far as it will go. The pin (5) must locate
in the groove (6) of the connector.

Cleaning and sterilizing:
The contact disc (1 ) can be removed and sterilised or disinfected by
any routine method e.g. in disinfectant solution, by washing, boiling
or autoclaving.
The dermatoscope can be cleaned by rubbing with alcohol or
disinfectant. It should not be boiled, soaked or autoclaved.

Contact disc made from silica glass with internal anti-reflective
coating.

Guarantee:
This instrument is guaranteed for one year (except bulbs).
Any defects which become apparent during this period will be
repaired free of charge provided the instrument has been used
normally and in accordance with the Instructions for use.
Further claims cannot be accepted. The guarantee period begins
from the date of purchase. Rechargeable batteries are guaranteed for
two years from the date of manufacture.
