AUTOCLAVABLE 3-BUTTON POWER CONTROL HANDPIECE
& ADAPTOR FOR USE WITH THE HYFRECATOR® 2000

Store at room temperature.

CAUTION: Federal law (USA) restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.

CAUTION: This product is NON-STERILE. Sterilize prior to use or, if sterility is not required, cover with A910 sheath for easy cleanup.

WARNING: Do not use in the presence of flammable materials. Fire could result.

WARNING: Improper electrode installation may result in injury to the patient or operating room personnel by arcing at the electrode pencil connection.

WARNING: Keep active accessories away from the patient when not in use. Accessories and electrodes should be placed in a clean, dry, nonconductive and highly visible area when not in use.

INSTALLING THE HANDPIECE:
1. Squeeze and slide the collar into place on the front of the Hyfrecator.
2. Place electrode into the handpiece. Ensure the electrode is fully inserted.
3. Place the handpiece into the collar to hold it in place.
4. Plug the smaller round connector from the handpiece into the receptacle on the bottom of the unit next to the power cord.
5. Plug the handpiece into the monopolar output jack on the left of the front of the unit in either the "LO" or "HI" port.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. To remotely adjust the power settings press the up or down button on the handpiece. Depressing and holding the up or down buttons will cause the power settings to change more rapidly.
2. To activate the monopolar output, depress the "ON" button on the handpiece. This is the button located nearest the electrode.
3. After use, remove electrode and resterilize the pencil, if appropriate, following the recommended procedure as follows.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove all gross matter (blood, tissue) by wiping down the pencil using a gauze pad or soft cloth dampened in warm tap water until all visible debris is removed.
2. Wipe the pencil using a gauze pad or soft cloth dampened in an enzymatic detergent mixture diluted according to the manufacturer's instructions. The pencil may also be gently scrubbed with a soft cleaning brush.
3. Remove cleaning agents from pencil by wiping with tap water dampened cloth.

STERILIZATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Number of uses when sterilized by steam autoclave: 25
1. Steam autoclave at 250° F. (121°.; gravity) for 20 minutes using an autoclavable pouch or wrapped cloth method. Consult the AAMI recommended practice for steam sterilization using the wrapped cloth method. Allow product to cool at least 30 minutes before use.
2. Flash autoclave method is not recommended.
