Laboratory \ Gentian Violet Gentian Violet Stain Information Delasco Gentian Violet is made from Gentian Violet and distilled water. Up to 10% Ethyl Alcohol USP may be added to help solubilize the gentian violet. It is filtered after thorough mixing. It is made in both 1% and 2% concentrations. Gentian Violet is also known as crystal violet and methylrosaline chloride. Recommended use is as a marker. It is labeled "For laboratory use only" It is provided in plastic, drop dispensing 1 and 2 oz containers.
