| SUPERFROST® PLUS GLASS SLIDES: A BREAKTHROUGH IN SLIDE TECHNOLOGY
Plus glass is a time and money saving advance Anatomic and Molecular Pathology laboratories have Been waiting for. It ends the need for slide preparation in the lab; it virtually eliminates background staining in standard H&E Stains; and it has proven to be superior for cell adhesion in cytocentrifuge preparations in standard Papanicolaou smears.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
Superfrost® Plus glass slides are made by a new process which:
Places a permanent positive charge in standard microscope slides
Electrostatically attracts frozen tissue sections and cytology preparations, binding them to the slide
Forms a bridge so that covalent bonds develop between formalin fixed sections and the glass
TISSUE SECTION AND CYTOLOGICAL PREPARATIONS ADHERE BETTER TO THE PLUS GLASS SLIDES WITHOUT THE NEED FOR SPECIAL ADHESIVES OR PROTEIN COATINGS, ELIMINATING THE NEED TO SUB SLIDES.
PLUS GLASS ENDS BACKGROUND STAINING.
Eliminating blue or red background staining often encountered in hematoxylin and eosin staining of tissue sections mounted on aluminized glass.
No brown background staining occurs when immunoperoxidase or in situ DNA procedures are performed on Plus glass. Higher degree of enzyme digestion can be performed during these procedures without the lost of tissue sections.
ADDED ADVANTAGES OF PLUS GLASS:
Cytologic preparations placed on Plus glass resist cell loss during enzyme digestion, DNA denaturation and RNA hybridization.
Plus glass improves tissue adherence in microwave staining.
Chromic acid washes are redundant for molecular hybridization because the slides are RNAse-free.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Floating your 2 to 5 micron thick tissue sections on a pre-heated distilled water bath. Do not add glue or subbing solution to the bath. The Plus slide pretreatment eliminates the need for these compounds. (Note: You may try substituting tap water for distilled water. However, if you begin losing tissue sections, use only distilled water.)
Mount your tissue sections carefully. Tissue bonding begins quickly on Superfrost® Plus slides.
Dry slides completely at room temperature by vertically draining them before heating them in an oven.
