Safety
The user of this fixture is cautioned that the manufacturer can only be considered responsible for the safety characteristics of the luminaire when maintenance, repairs and modifications are performed by the manufacturer, or by agencies expressly authorized to perform such work by the manufacturer, and when components which affect the safety and function of the luminaire are replaced with genuine replacement parts. This fixture is not intended for use in areas where an explosion hazard exists.

Power
The power circuit contains an isolation step-down transformer which reduces the appropriate mains voltage to 24v ac to supply the Bright Spot light. Power input to the transformer is controlled by the on/off switch. Maximum power consumption is 20 watts.

Precautions
  • Do not spill liquids onto the lighthead

  • To avoid physical harm, do not open the lighthead while the unit is on
Maintenance
Turn power OFF. Maintenance must be done by a qualified electrical contractor or skilled worker. The only routine maintenance will be replacement of the bulb and cleaning of the lighthead. The average bulb should have a life of 3000 hours, but operating differences will cause individual bulbs to vary.

Opening the Lighthead
Before performing any maintenance inside the lighthead, allow the bulb to cool. If the light has been operating for 10 minutes or more, allow 30 minutes for cooling.

The back cover is attached to the chassis with a Phillips screw. Remove the screw and pull the cover straight back.

Bulb Replacement Procedure
Open the lighthead as described above. Unplug the white ceramic socket from the bulb by pulling and wiggling it at the same time. Pull the bulb straight out (it is only held by two spring wires at this point).

CAUTION: Use only halogen bulb, type ESX (20 WATT, 12.0 VOLT), for replacement. Use of a higher wattage and/or lower wattage bulb may cause a fire hazard. When handling the new bulb, be careful not to touch the front surfaces – body oils on these surfaces will decrease bulb life and performance.

Install the new bulb by sliding it straight down into the lampholder. Connect the socket to the bulb by aligning the bulb pins with the two small holes in the socket, then push the socket and bulb together. It may help to wiggle the socket slightly while pushing. Re-install the back cover with the screw.

Cleaning
The exterior surfaces of the light may be cleaned with a mild detergent or alcohol solution. Open the lighthead as described above. Blow and wipe any dust and dirt accumulation.
