Physicians Complex® Retinol Eye Cream contains Retinol, Retinyl Palmitate, Coenzyme Q-10 and Vitamin E. Retinol is naturally occurring lipid soluble vitamin. It seems to be effective in reducing the number and depth of wrinkles and lightening of pigmented spots and photo damaged skin when applied topically.
Retinol is chemically similar to tretinoin, but it is less irritating and it is allowed in cosmetic products. Retinyl Palmitate is readily absorbed by the skin and converted to Vitamin A. It may produce Anti-wrinkling and skin firming benefits for a smoother texture and super moisture retention.
Coenzyme Q-10 (Ubiquinone) is a naturally occurring antioxidant that is present in the skin. Exposure of the skin to UV light (sunlight), which is associated with photoaging, can result in a decrease in Ubiquinone. Topical application of Coenzyme Q-10 may reduce some of the processes associated with photoaging.
Vitamin E is well known for its antioxidant effects. Many studies have shown that topical application of Vitamin E reduces lipid peroxidation, DNA changes and wrinkling.
This formula utilizes a silicone matrix technology, which protects the Retinol and the other ingredients from oxidation, while delivering the active ingredients into the skin. This advanced, moisturizing formula restores the delicate tissue of the eye area to a more youthful appearance.
