| DENTAL DISPOSABLE
Since most dentists use 30 gauge needles, and the dental market is much larger than the medical market, 30 gauge dental needles are considerably less expensive than medical needles. Dental needles are not interchangeable with medical needles, but must be used with a dental aspirating syringe and anesthesia single use cartridges. A dental needle has a screw on hub, instead of a luer lock or luerslip fitting, and it has a needle in the hub end, to pierce the dental cartridge. Even so, because the cost of the needle is much more competitive than the medical needle, the cost of a injection remains about the same as a traditional medical injection from a multiple dose vial. MPL disposable needles, are available in the dental version. That is, screw on, not luer lok, designed to screw onto a dental syringe (Astra or Miltex) in which is a 1.8 ml anesthetic cartridge. The advantage of this is that there is less handling, each dose is a new cartridge, with no possibility of contamination of a multiple dose vial. Another advantage, is that because of the large number of needles used by dentists, and the increased competition, the dental versions are about 1/3 less expensive than the medical version. Needles are in hard plastic, twist open containers. Packed in sealed, tamper-resistant boxes These needles may not be used with regular medical syringes, nor may they used with needle adapters / adaptors for Electrosurgical units (LuerLok Metal Hub needles required)
Tribeveled Point-- entry with less pressure Siliconized shaft, for reducing resistance and pain Needles are packed in hard plastic sheaths, twist to open, breaking the paper seal (making tampering or a used needle obvious) May be autoclaved (if you wish to include in a surgical pack) Packed in sealed, tamper-resistant boxes Available in 1/2" and 1" lengths. The longer length allows a lot of curvature, easily bending, without tubular deformation, 90 degrees. This allows access and approach to areas that might otherwise be awkward with a non bending shaft.
