Reference \ Cancer Surgery Atlas of Skin Cancers Processed by Frozen Sections and Mohs Surgery

| |
SN Snow, BJ Longley, DB Stewart,
Ringbound, 400 illus., includes DVD, 354 pp., 2007.
This atlas is the first of its kind in dealing with the interpretation of pathology slides processed by frozen sections. It is a compendium of skin cancers treated at the Dermatologic/Mohs Surgery Clinic at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison: the birthplace of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
There are clinical photos of the primary tumor of nearly every type of skin cancer and every effort was made to match these tumors with the actual frozen (and sometimes paraffin) microsection photos in order to provide true clinicopathologic correlation.
A chapter includes frozen section slides prepared for Dr. Frederic Mohs from tissue prefixed with zinc chloride paste. While the book contains 400 large formatted color digital photomicrographs, there is a DVD inside the front cover that contains an additional 600 images as well as an examination to test the knowledge of the reader.
This atlas will prove to be an invaluable asset to Mohs practitioners whether they have been using the Mohs technique for years or they are just starting.
The DVD with its 1000 high resolution images that are keyword searchable and with the built-in scan and zoom feature is an excellent tool for teaching small or large audiences.
Non-returnable.
