Wound Care \ Vigilon

Vigilon Information

VIGILON
A Hydrogel Original

THERE HASN'T BEEN ANYTHING THIS COOL SINCE '81!

The hydrogel that started it all....
In 1981, Vigilon primary wound dressing became the first hydrogel available
for wound management. Since then, others have tried to duplicate the
soothing properties of Vigilon dressing, but no other hydrogel feels as well,
conforms as well, or provides the same cooling effect. And now, Vigilon
dressings are more cost effective than most other advanced wound care
dressings.

Take another look at vigilon dressings.
Vigilon primary wound dressing is a hydrogel formulation consisting of 96%
water, yet it still has the ability to absorb wound exudate. This makes it
an ideal dressing for a wide variety of wound conditions including burns,
dermal ulcers, and moist and dry desquamations.

Vigilon dressing - the original and still the "coolest."

Product Description
An inert, cross-linked polyethylene oxide continuous hydrogel sheet,
containing 96% water and 4% insoluble cross-linked polyethylene oxide.

Vigilon Primary Wound Dressing Protocol
1. Cleanse wound with Biolex wound cleanser.
2. Remove Vigilon dressing from outer package.
3. If contact with the peri-wound area is not desired, cut the
dressing to the wound size with sterile scissors.
4. Remove one film for occlusive dressing function. Place dressing
with exposed hydrogel side onto wound.
5. Remove both films for breathable (permeable) dressing function.
Ensure dressing and wound remains moist.
6. To secure, wrap vigilon dressing in place or cover with a gauze
sponge and tape in place.
7. Dressing change frequency will be dictated by the amount of exudate.
This may be as frequent as 24 hours or as infrequent as 3 days.
