
While PRP has become a staple in aesthetic and medical dermatology, the variance in clinical outcomes across practices is staggering. The culprit isn’t the treatment itself - it’s the inconsistency in the system that prepares it. How PRP Works

A 2023 meta-analysis of nine randomized controlled trials (238 patients) found that PRP significantly increased hair density at both 3 and 6 months compared with placebo.¹ A more recent 2025 meta-analysis pooling 43 RCTs and nearly 1,900 participants reinforced these findings across hair density, thickness, and patient satisfaction.² Reviews focused on female pattern hair loss have found PRP performs comparably to topical minoxidil, with a favorable safety profile and no major adverse events reported across pooled studies.³ ⁴

A 2024 systematic review of 13 studies reported consistent improvements in collagen density and overall skin appearance following PRP treatment, along with high patient satisfaction.⁸ A broader appraisal of 36 studies and over 3,000 patients found meaningful improvement in wrinkles and pigmentation in a majority of the reviewed trials.⁹ As with any treatment category built on a growing and still-evolving evidence base, results are strongest when protocols are dosed and administered consistently, which is where preparation quality becomes the deciding factor.
