Product Details
High Viscosity Dermabond adhesive is six times thicker than the original Dermabond adhesive. The viscosity of the original Dermabond adhesive is slightly greater than water, while High Viscosity Dermabond adhesive has a syrup-like viscosity.
High Viscosity Dermabond adhesive provides better control, and its strong, flexible bond seals out the most common infection-causing bacteria, including Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterococcus faecium.
High Viscosity Dermabond adhesive is a sterile, liquid topical skin adhesive containing a monomeric (2-octyl cyanoacrylate) formulation and the colorant D & C Violet #2.
High Viscosity Dermabond comes in two delivery methods: the vial and the ProPen.
Vial
The applicator consists of a crushable 0.5ml glass ampule contained within a plastic vial with an attached dome-shaped applicator tip for precise placement of solution to wand. Item # DHV12.
ProPen
The ProPen applicator comes preloaded with a 0.5ml vial of High Visosity Dermabond, which is released when a dial is turned and then expressed by pressing a button with the thumb. It is packaged with an optional precision applicator tip, which can be attached when detailed work is required. It contains enough tissue adhesive to close wounds as long as 12.5cm. Item # DPP6.
0.5 ml vials (up to 24) are no longer hazardous by air under the limited quantity exemption.
Single-use 0.5 ml. CE approved.
Dermabond sold through Delasco is only available to physicians and medical facilities in the United States.
